Faith. Culture. Life.
Amy and I must have said "God will never give us more than we can handle" hundreds of times over the past year so your title brought a wry smile to my face this evening.....I will state that enduring something as tiring and grueling as you are truly makes the "incidences" of the past that once seemed like "big deals" trivial in comparison. Stay strong. Stay rested. Know you're in the best possible place in the entire world for medical care...and that God is in your corner (and the last time I checked that's a great thing :).
How about "Anything is possible"....I would, of course, add "with God". Can't wait to see what others share. Praying often. Love, Sharon
God is good all the time and His track record is impecable.
"When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on."Thomas Jefferson
"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the staircase."Martin Luther King, Jr.
"What is to give light must endure the burning."Eleanor Roosevelt
"The struggle of life is one of our greatest blessings. It makes us patient, sensitive, and Godlike. It teaches us that althought the world is full of suffering it is also full of the overcoming of it."Helen Keller
When the going gets tough, the tough get going.Or your faith-focused option:If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
God never promises an easy passage, only a safe landing. We can use any tragedy as a stumbling block or a stepping stone.Prayers and LoveSouth Africa
Keep on keepin' onhow can you not when you look at her beautiful face and you know that God is right beside you all
“I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish He didn't trust me so much.” - Mother Teresa
Great phrases, don't think I could top any of those although I am sure people will! Well...God Bless!
"It is better to walk with a friend in the dark, than to walk alone in the light." -Helen KellerYour family is absolutely never alone!
"Everything happens for a reason."The tough part....being still to find out the reason at a later time, and trusting that the "reason" is what the Lord will reveal to us as his will.
You posted this on your facebook page awhile ago and it has stuck with me each day "let us boast in our sufferings, for we know that suffering produces endurance, which produces character and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint." Romans 5:4-5There have been some good ones - keep hanging in there and know that we love you all very much!
"Sometimes He (God) calms the storm and other times He calms His child." the refrain from an old Scott Krippayne song which we have prayed for you all every day! Love you
It is not a coincidence, it is a Godincidence!
Hard word ain't easy!
Oops!Hard work ain't easy!
First secular encouragement cliche to come to mind: this too shall pass.OR this one: remember there's always someone who has it worse off. (I can't wrap my head around how that is supposed to be encouraging.)First non-secular encouragement cliche I think of: Philippians 4:13I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.Praying for each of you and have been since we heard of Chaia's sickness. Will continue to pray for peace and healing.
Seek and you shall find....You have all saught and found and will continue to grow strong in your strength from the strength of othersI never knew a blog till your's and you have help me to seek and find,,, Love and prayers, d lenthe
A couple of my favorites...Faith makes all things possible, not easyAfter the storm comes the rainbowLife isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning to dance in the rain...I'd say you guys are doing a pretty good job of dancing through this storm...a true inspiration...praying for you all each and every day!
"If you're going through hell, keep going." Winston Churchillor, one of my favorite verses ..."For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a future." Jeremiah 29:11~ prayers from Las Vegas
Shoot! Valerie beat me to it :)Philippians 4:13 has been in my head since I read this last night. Hope you all are having a great week. Still praying in KY.
Our worst days are never so bad that we are beyond the reach of God's grace and our best days are never so good that we are beyond the need of God's grace.Prayers to you all!
We have a banner in the back of our church that I believe can be encouraging yet makes us reflect on our day. It simply is this: Today we moved GODWARD!I encourage you to always move Godward.
Mama said there'd be days like this?
Into every life some rain must fall... we never expect the floods!
In God we trust
when it rains it pours
"When the praises go up, the blessings come down""If you call on Jesus, He will answer prayer""The Jireh principle: God always has and always will make a way""Work out your own soul salvation""If you play with fire, you're going to get burned""Some people don't believe fat means greasy""The pot calling the kettle black""Don't put all your eggs in one basket""One banana short of a bunch""The lights are on but nobody's home""When it rains it pours""Where the rubber meets the road"
There's a silver lining behind every cloud.
Praise God from whom all blessing flow........Not sure if that is encouraging either but that is what I am thinking of currently.
