Pitfalls and Rescuers

This weekend we talked about pitfalls that can derail people from great things God wants to do in and through them.

Here's a few reflection questions to get your week started.

For singles and daters:

What pitfalls are currently threatening your trajectory as a world changer for Christ?

What does it look like for light to come into the darkness in these pitfall areas?

What role has/does porn play in your life? How can porn be toxic to relationships?

Why is being equally yoked such an important thing in relationships?
---------

For marrieds:

Where are you both at in regards to pornography?

What areas do you feel like you are equally yoked with your spouse?

What areas are you pulling against each other rather than with each other?

What do you need to do as a couple to see Jesus lift you out of the pit?

----

We all find ourselves in pits at different times. Some of us need to stop trying to climb our way out of the mud (we're exhausted and filthy). Some of us need to put the shovel down (we're heading toward destruction).

The Solution is Psalm 40:1-3

1 I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him.

Jesus is our rescuer.

Pray through these verses as you start your week this week.
