Finally!

Early on in Chaia's hospital stay, I began to take a stand. I was ticked off that this little kid was stuck in a hospital bed day after day. And so I declared that she wasn't supposed to be in a hospital. She was supposed to go to the zoo. And so began my goal of getting her out the hospital and to make it to the zoo.

And on three previous attempts (due to the weather), I failed to make it happen.

But last week, it happened.

Thanks to a friend from way back in high school (thanks Steph!) we were able to get to the Columbus Zoo.

The coolest part was meeting up with our friend Lauren who works there as one of the animal trainers for the show they put on in the summer. Right now they are rehearsing/training, so she took some time and let us sneak backstage to meet some of the performers up close and personal!

So Chaia wasn't super interested...in meeting Kangaroos, the world's largest type of rodent, or even skunks, but she did stare at this bird alot. Partially because it was the loudest friend we met and partially because they share a similar hair style.

Zoo trip = Success

By the time we decided to call it a day, Chaia was plum tuckered out.

Precious, precious memories! In particular, I love the Chaia/Skunk picture - two opposite ends of the spectrum - one thing I hate and one thing I love! Today I thank God for both!
May God bless you guys with many more wonderful outings!
