Chaia + faceplants = new issues

Chaia is great.

Shaina and I feel like she is growing a little bit which would be amazing! (First time in almost 2 years)

She is increasingly active and adventurous. (Climbing the steps multiple times a day. Crawling on hands and knees...which if you know her preferred mode of transportation, you know this is big!)

She is increasingly bright and animated. (I think she recognizes and says about half the letters in the alphabet now...walking into Kroger today she yelled "P...Hippo...A...M...C" It dawned on me she knew most the letters of Pharmacy on the side of the building.)

The broviac tube is gone and there are no complications.

So much we never thought we'd see! It's been fun to watch her get more and more "normal"

One concern right now is that she has lost her balance and face planted a number of times. Twice now in two weeks she has landed on her mouth and now has had two teeth come out.

She doesn't eat. So her gums likely have not gotten much work and remain soft. Her bones haven't been quite right either, and that appears to be a perfect storm for losing teeth.

I know there are bigger issues for Chaia and for the world...but we don't want her looking like she's a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, missing a bunch of teeth. We have a feeling she is likely to lose more before it's all said and done.

Ask God to help us move from crisis mode to delight mode and just enjoy the munchkin and the fun we get to have with her in this season. Thanks for praying for us.

Losing balance for ' normal' ppl can be eyes or ears....have you checked those?

My granddaughter is 4 and fell down a flight of steps and lost a front tooth at the age of 2. But we feel blessed that is all she lost. Continued prayers for Chaia

I may be this precious girl's nana, but to be honest (and without any bias at all, I promise), two missing teeth could not possibly deter her 'cuteness factor'! Permanent teeth will follow in due time. The daily miracle of exuberant life and zest for loving God and people does shine forth in little Chaia. I remain inspired by her tenacity and courage as God's healing power is manifested in her body day by day. The best is yet to come!

I agree with you Cindy, the best is yet to come. Her sweetness that shines thru every picture and video just captures my heart. But one heart I know she has captured and that is God! He knew what He was doing when He gave her an infectious personality. When I need a pick me up, I seek out her videos and they just put a huge smile on my face. I pray for restoration of the calcium to her bones and that strength would arise in her body even now this day!
