The pictures and stories out of OKC this past week have been hard to stomach. Such devastating damage in a blink of an eye.
And where chaos and hardship and pain have taken place, the church is called to go...not with manipulation...not with an agenda...but with love...with compassion...with hearts that grieve with those who are grieving.
So here we go.
This Sunday and next, we will be collecting the following supplies which were communicated by a church on the ground as pressing needs:
• Grab and Go snacks (protein bars, granola)
• Bottled water and sports drinks
• Flashlights
• Batteries (all sizes)
• Tarps
• Tents
• Rain Gear (ponchos, rain coats)
• Work Gloves
• Plastic Storage Bins
• Brooms, Rakes, Shovels
• Empty Backpacks
• Bug Spray, sunscreen, Sunglasses
• All personal Hygiene items

For my friends who aren't close to CBUS, the cost of getting three 26 foot trucks to OKC with all the supplies is going to be about $5000. Donations to cover the transportation costs can be made here. Select Cbus Loves OKC in the drop down menu for a secure, tax deductible gift option. Any donations over and above the transportation costs will be given to the distribution center to further aid in their relief efforts.
If you're in Columbus, change your facebook profile pic to the logo for the next two weeks and get the word out at your businesses/coworkers/neighbors/friends/churches/etc.
Being people who are being changed and being change.
Change Starts Here.
