The Funny Thing About Perseverance (Change of Plans)

So we have held on to James 1 through this process and how trials lead to perseverance and perseverance when it completes its work, leads to maturity.

So we've asked for perseverance to do its work...which is like asking God for patience.

The big test for 12:30 (PET Scan) is now planned for tomorrow--Friday at 12:30 and they are looking at inserting a PIC Line...a more permanent line for her to receive her treatments. There are risks in this...they are looking to go through her arm to run this line. If it doesn't work there, they will have to run it through her liver and then up to her heart.

So we don't know if the PIC Line will happen today or tomorrow. We don't know if the PET Scan will happen today or tomorrow. For now, we sit and we wait and we pray.

This part of the journey is called perseverance.

(This part of the journey sucks.)

At the risk of sounding both unchristian and unladylike, my dear friends, this whole journey sucks! We wait and pray with you both in faith...for our very BIG God to do VERY BIG work!

All our love,
Roberta & Paul

I agree that waiting is one of the worst things to endure in a situation like this but God is with you, Shaina and Chaia every step of the way.

Interceding on your sweet baby's behalf...I have been reading a book called "Heaven is Real" which is a true story and there's a scene in the book where the 3yr old son has to have emergency surgery on his appendix which have burst, the family didnt know and sadly the poison had been leaking into the boy's body for 5 days. During surgery the father (a pastor) cries out to God asking "Why me?!". The little boy ends up being alright, and he tells his dad that he met Jesus up in heaven while they were operating on him. While he was there he said that Jesus told him he was sending him back because he was "answering his dad's prayer". Prayer matters, God hears you...even when its not a beautiful prayer, God can handle ANYTHING we throw at Him and He loves you guys and your beautiful daughter SO much! God is good, despite our circumstances :)

Here is another perseverance verse that I found for you Ben and Shaina. Continue to cling to your faith and the amazing support group you have been provided with:

Hebrews 10:35-36
35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

Ben and Shaina,
I have a feeling that this waiting is an answer to prayer...that God is providing extra time for your little Chaia....to breathe life into her and to show His Glory. Remember it is all in HIS TIMING and not ours. We may not understand and may become weary in the process....but He NEVER grows weary!!
