Hebrews Challenge Chapter 7

Saturday

Hebrews 7:1-28

Jesus is greater than angels. Greater than Moses. Greater than the high priests. And now in chapter 7, he is greater than Melchizedek, who made a rather brief and somewhat strange appearance in Genesis with Abraham.

But through the years, Melchizedek war revered as a mysterious, holy priest, a prefigurement of some God initiated line.

And Jesus is from that line.

And "Such a high priest truly meets our need." (v. 26)

Jesus...meets our need. Truly.

And these days, our need is great.

For salvation.

For forgiveness.

For hope.

For healing.

But above all...

For Christ Himself.

We get Him. That is our reward. That is our purpose. That is all we need.

I find great joy in v. 25, especially "...because he always lives to intercede for them." How awesome is it that he's always there for us and he meets all our needs whatever they are!
