David 1...Goliath 0

So the Vent is off.

31 days on the vent.

Now one day off.

We are by no means out of the woods. She needs to remain stable over night. This David and Goliath is a 12 round fight...not a one stone throw.

So we sit and wait.

We stare at a screen of numbers, hoping respiratory rates remain stable...heart rates remain stable...blood pressures remain stable...pulse-oxes remain stable. So far so good.

Meet Goliath 1

Affectionately known as R2D2, Chaia just beat the tar out of this Goliath. May he Rest in Peace.

Here are just a couple pics from the rest of the afternoon/evening.

Chaia was a little wild with her heart rate and breathing after extubation, but a little bit of mama holdin' her and a bit of dad playing guitar and she was back down where she should be.

David 1...Goliath 0

Round Two going on right now.

Chaia wins when we kneel...its not a catchy phrase, it is the irrefutable truth.

Please don't stop.

Thanks for the "shout-out" in Nevada! There are actually a lot more Christians here than you'd think :) It's a broken city, Las Vegas that is, and there are many people here sharing God's love with the broken. I will be working nightshift tonight so I can pray for the next 12 hours that Chaia remains strong and defeats the next Goliath in her path! I work as a nurse in the PICU here in Las Vegas and each little one I care for tonight will remind me of how precious little Chaia is to so many people and how God works in miraculous ways :)

I had to check your blog first thing this morning. PRAISE THE LORD! Then I read the story of David and Goliath again and am visualizing Chaia with her slingshot, but in this story she is in her parents' arms has an army of thousands of prayer warriors marching behind her. This enemy WILL be defeated!!!
Still on my knees (and the fasting wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!)

Psalm 139:11-16 "If I say,‘Surely the darkness shall cover me,and the light around me become night’,
even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is as bright as the day,for darkness is as light to you. For it was you who formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works;
that I know very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes beheld my unformed substance. In your book were written all the days that were formed for me, when none of them as yet existed."
